A useful access check follows the full route and the largest delivery component. It is more than comparing sofa width with a door opening. Record clear dimensions, turns, steps and handling constraints, then ask about uncertain points before placing the order.
Start at the actual delivery point
Identify where the booked service leaves or carries the goods. Curbside, building entry, room placement and assembly are different service levels. Record the route from that point to the intended room, including outside gates, steps and building restrictions. Do not assume an illustrated door-to-room journey is included in the quoted service.
Measure clear openings
Measure the usable opening rather than a nominal door size. Note door furniture, fixed obstructions and whether a door can be removed under the actual handling arrangement. Record height as well as width. For a narrow corridor, include the turning area at each end rather than only its straight section.
Document lifts and stairs fully
For a lift, record the doorway and internal cabin dimensions, including usable height and access into and out of it. For stairs, record width, headroom, bends and landings. Take photographs showing the route. Building delivery bookings, lift protection or access hours may also need arranging with the relevant manager.
Get the packed component specification
Ask for the longest, widest, highest and heaviest delivery components of the selected product. Clarify whether packaging or legs can be removed during the approved process. An assembled sofa footprint cannot substitute for these figures. A modular name does not prove that all components are small or equally sized.
Use a checker as a prompt, not a guarantee
A simple measurement comparison can identify missing information or an obvious concern. It cannot reliably model every rotation, handling position or three-dimensional turn. Do not attempt a difficult move because a two-number calculator says it fits. Request a human review when the route is tight or incomplete.
Send a concise access pack
Send the product link and option, route sketch, labelled measurements, photographs of turns and stairs, and any building restrictions. Keep the advice with your order information. Confirm the service level and arrangements before dispatch so the delivery plan is based on the actual address and product.
Compare actual products
These examples use the dimensions currently listed for the selected models. Check the selected configuration and product details before ordering; the conceptual interior image is not a product photograph.

Frequently asked questions
Can a doorway-width check guarantee delivery?
No. Height, depth, turns and handling constraints also matter.
Do I need packed or assembled dimensions?
Use delivery-component dimensions for access and assembled dimensions for room planning.
Are stairs and assembly included?
That depends on the actual booked service. Confirm it for your address and order.
